This is a sort of full circle moment for Brian, who began working on environmental issues with MCE in 2007 and left the organization to pursue more direct work in the local food movement, doing distribution with Eat Here St. Louis and managing the Schlafly and Tower Grove farmers markets. And that lead to working on the Double Up Food Bucks program in Kansas and Missouri, which took him back to his home town of Kansas City. Moving back to St. Louis in 2023 because of his deep connections to the local food
community, he is excited to help grow the regional foodshed to new heights. He has also been a long-time grower and gardener, taking part in the 2009 inaugural season of the EarthDance farming apprenticeship program in Ferguson and being a certified Master Gardener from 2014 to 2017.
