Tree Planting Volunteer Day

A.C.R.E.S. and Coahoma Orchards are establishing new orchards! Join us and lend a helping hand as they plant their new trees this fall. Tree planting activities will take place at both farms during this Volunteer Day. We will start at A.C.R.E.S. and finish at Coahoma Orchards. These sites are about 6 miles apart (a 15-minute drive). You are welcome to participate for the entire day or just at one location.

Project: Tree Planting

Activities: Using hand tools such as shovels and trowels to dig holes and plant trees

Schedule:

• 11am-1pm: A.C.R.E.S. – 3951 West Florissant Ave, St Louis, MO 63115
• 1-3pm: Coahoma Orchards – 408 Fork Dr, St Louis, MO 63107

What to bring:

• water bottle
• hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
• comfortable shoes with closed toes (ground will be uneven and may be muddy)
• comfortable clothes that are okay to get dirty
• a sack lunch (if you are joining for the entire event)
• gloves (optional)

We will provide:

• gloves
• water
• snacks

Restrooms:

No restrooms are available on site. There are public restrooms located nearby.

Mobility, Accessibility, & Other Considerations:

• Ground is uneven and not easily accessible with mobility aids
• Activities may involve bending, squatting, and kneeling
• Activities take place outdoors. Be mindful of the forecast and dress accordingly.
• Masks are welcome but not required

Children:

Older children are welcome with adult supervision
