FARM TOUR #1

Join us for our first Farm Tour at Coahoma Orchards! Learn how urban areas can transform into edible food forests with space for mindfulness and meditation.

Snacks and beverages will be provided following the tour.

About Coahoma Orchards

Coahoma Orchards is an urban orchard “direct action” dedicated to the cross-cultural heritage of Native and African people. This multi-site orchard grows chokeberry, plums, black cherries with perennial herbs and flowers. Each location is the size of a standard “city lot,” in residential area, adding real value to the neighborhoods we engage with. This model adds accessibility and acts as a demonstration model for suburban and urban growers who work in small spaces. They also steward an educational farm site that includes genealogy, storytelling, and regenerative farming models.

About Your Farmer – Dail Chambers

Dail Chambers (she/her) creates food forests, relates to the river, and grows seed on Osage/Illini land known as Saint Louis, Missouri. She is a mother and doula. She is a Restorative Justice Circle Keeper and Mental Health First Aid Responder. Her inquiry in public health fuels her social art and agricultural work. Chambers operates Coahoma Orchards and directs Coahoma Orchards Community Research Institute–a resident and grower-led approach to social science and agriculture.

Dail is also a visual artist and appraiser. Her visual art practice is a multimedia exploration in storytelling and social environmental art. Chambers is the founder of Yeyo Arts Collective, a small grassroots organization that has stewarded arts and crafts through advocacy, gallery operations, and community programming for nearly sixteen years.

About our Farm Tour Series

Our 2026 Farm Tour Series gives you the chance to visit your local farms in person, get a realistic look at what goes into creating the food you place on your tables, and get to know the real people who produce that food. This series of events showcases the diversity of working farms in the greater St Louis region, including vegetables, livestock, mushrooms, fruits, flowers, and more! The price of your ticket honors a local farmer’s time and expertise, helps them to diversify their revenue, and supports Known & Grown’s ability to continue to offer farmer-focused, community-oriented programming. This is a family-friendly event and a great outing for visitors of all ages, abilities, and interests. All are welcome.
