“We aim to make this little part of earth whole again!”
“Flora Bay Farm was started by Courtney Smith (Farmer/Artist/Owner) and Steve Sawyer (Farm Advisor/Writer) in 2014. The micro-farm continues to grow, offering a diverse landscape of flowers, herbs, hops, fruits and vegetables grown with permaculture and bio-intensive practices. Courtney and Steve’s hope is to help increase the availability of local foods and further strengthen the ties of community to area farmers and producers.”
“Flora Bay is Certified Naturally Grown. We don’t use any synthetic herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms, following the National Organic Program standards. Flora Bay’s Farmher Courtney also utilizes the best sustainable farming practices: crop rotations, cover cropping, permaculture, habitat building, native plantings, mulching, and no/low tilling.”
“Our products include: cut flowers, culinary herbs, vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, scallions, peppers, garlic), fruit (strawberries, mulberries, pawpaws), salt blends, dried herb blends, Rosemary wreaths, hops & hop tincture, medicinal tinctures & teas.”
