“We think turning food waste into amazing, nutrient rich soil to grow MORE food is a great way to care for the environment and once it’s time to harvest, is delicious, to boot!”
We are a small urban farm in Old North Saint Louis. 2020 was our first year farming. We started with a small experimental garden that, despite our mistakes, was actually quite productive. But since then we’ve been a bit sidetracked by the growth of our home and commercial composting services. With the home composting service we offer subscribers food scrap collection with our bucket swaps and bin drop off locations. We offer compost giveback in the Spring and Fall to our home pickup subscribers.
We are also expanding our commercial services to restaurants and other small businesses. Not only do we want to grow things but we want to help heal wounded urban soils. Compost is amazing for this as it helps soil hold water, it captures carbon, it inoculates the soils and it even helps remediate polluted soils.
