RESCHEDULED

This event was originally scheduled in July but was rescheduled due to weather.

Open to all farmers.

Join us with fellow farmers to share in community! Charissa and Joe Coyle of Moy Mell Farm are hosting a potluck and farm tour for farmers in the region. Joe and Charissa have been farming organically for over 2 decades. They grow vegetables and fruits and raise dairy cows, chickens, goats, and bees.

Schedule:

Potluck: Joe and Charissa will prepare a main dish. Please bring a side dish to share. Known & Grown will provide beverages. We will have the option to eat outside or inside, depending on the weather. Consider bringing your own folding chair for additional seating. If you aren’t able to bring a dish, please come anyway! We’d love to see you there.

Farm Tour: We’ll take a walk around to see different aspects of the farm. This will be informal with plenty of time for questions and discussion. Joe and Charissa maintain 1/2 acres in vegetable and fruit production and an additional 40 acres shared with Charissa’s parents where they raise livestock (dairy cows, chickens, goats, and bees). They also host a guest rental on their farm.

Optional Tour: If time allows, we can visit their market site in New Haven, about 10 minutes away, to take a closer look at how they run their weekly CSA market and cooperative.

Additional Information:

Children:

Kids are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian

Driveway & Parking:

The driveway is a bit uneven and bumpy. Please drive slowly. The parking area can hold 12-15 cars. Alternatively, you can park at the top of the hill and walk down to the farm. Please let us know if you are interested in options for carpooling.

Restrooms:

There are restrooms in the house and guest rental.

Mobility & Accessibility Considerations:

  • The farm and home are not wheelchair accessible.
  • We will be walking on uneven ground during the farm tour.
  • Seating is available inside and can be made available outside for anyone who can’t stand for long periods of time.
  • Masks are not required for this event, but it is a mask-friendly space.
