SSP School House Acres

“SSP School House Acres is a small scale community farm which makes organic food available to seniors receiving Meals On Wheels and daily lunches.”

“SSP School House Acres grows produce with organic practices and sells  produce to our Wellness Center members and seniors using our facility to raise funds for the Meals On Wheels program. We are located in Senior Services Plus in Alton, IL.”

School House Acres consists of one greenhouse. one high
tunnel, 12 4’x8’ raised beds and 4 3’x20’ mounded rows.

Additional Practices

Senior Services Plus (SSP) is a non-profit social service agency that provides myriad services to the community besides growing organic food for the Alton Farmers Market, their salad bar in their cafe, and as an ingredient in their Meals on Wheels meals. They also have a wellness center with a and gym that offers yoga and other fitness classes.
